About Tom Still

Tom Still is an award-winning journalist who has been penning “Inside Wisconsin” since 1990. That span includes his tenure as chief political reporter, editorial page editor and associate editor of the Wisconsin State Journal, followed by his successful career as president of the Wisconsin Technology Council.

Still’s weekly columns often focus on public policy, business, politics, and trends in technology – but also touch on aspects of Wisconsin life spawned by five decades of living in the Badger State.

Still was a senior lecturer for 16 years in the Department of Life Sciences Communications at UW-Madison. He continues to serve on advisory boards in the College of Engineering and the College of Computing and Artificial Intelligence. Still also serves on the Wisconsin regional board for the Marshfield Clinic Health System and is of counsel to Competitive Wisconsin Inc.

Still has been cited for his writing by the Wisconsin Newspaper Association, the Associated Press, and the Pew Center for Civic Journalism, among others.

Tom and his wife, Schofield native and practicing attorney Kathy, split time between Madison, Adams County, and wherever children and grandchildren may be.
